The exhibition Let’s go to PE class! is dedicated to the long and rich history of physical education in Croatia or, rather, the key activities, noted personalities, the institutions and organizations that are tied to the development of physical education. Since its introduction as a mandatory subject in public and, later, secondary schools, physical education today remains the only subject in the Croatian education system to exist in all levels of education – at the primary and secondary school levels and the higher education level. The exhibition was originally displayed in 2019 in the halls of the Croatian School Museum, marking three important anniversaries: the 145th anniversary of the introduction of mandatory physical education classes in Croatian schools, the 125th anniversary of the education to teach physical culture, and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Kinesiology of the University of Zagreb.
